Dr. Amelia Roberts is a Senior Teaching Fellow at UCL Institute of Education and Deputy Director of UCL Centre for Inclusive Education. She is the Research Engagement and Impact Lead for the Psychology and Human Development Department. She leads on the whole school Knowledge Exchange programme, ‘Supporting Wellbeing, Emotional Resilience and Learning ‘SWERL'  and has two other ongoing research projects: Lesson Study for Special Educational Needs (2019 conference)and ‘Making Autism Research Accessible to Teachers’ MARAT . Amelia is also leading on aspects of the DFE funded ‘Whole School SEND’ project, a nationwide project to increase expectations and provision for children with SEND: https://www.sendgateway.org.uk/whole-school-send/ Internationally, Amelia leads on SEN School Development in the Falkland Islands and has worked with UNICEF and the Ministry of Education in Oman to write a teacher training programme to support inclusive classrooms. Amelia has lectured in Sweden and Hong Kong, with a forthcoming contribution to an ‘Inclusion Expert’ series in Singapore. Amelia is also working in Moldova, evaluating an inclusive education project run by the Lumos Foundation. Amelia is the Resident Expert for the Labour Party review on SEND Policy and has contributed to Sky News, the Guardian BBC South East today and BBC Radio on SEN Policy, inclusion and Autism.
